  1. Just started listening to this… It’s fantastic!

    • Thanks, and you have a marvelous show as well!

      • Thank you very much. I actually feel I can learn a lot from you guys 🙂 Especially when it comes to mixing… Your mixes are very strong. I particularly enjoy the sense of movement you manage to bring to the scenes… That’s very hard to do when you only have sound to work with. Scriptwise, it’s also very cool how you manage to avoid too much “self-narration” — another challenge. Finally, the atmosphere you conjure up really works. I believe atmosphere is one of the key components of audio drama and this show has it in spades.

  2. I certainly hope so, given all the work it requires. I do all the mixing myself and it can be quite the chore. I’m always experimenting (with the occasional bad choice I learn from) and finding new ways to do things. I may be unhealthily obsessed with the soundscapes to the point where I do more than I really need to (adding layers of sound which for 95% listeners will only exist at the subconscious level), but hey.

As for avoiding “narration”, yes, this was particularly challenging for me, considering I spent my life previous to audio production … writing novels (many of them literary with a lot more narration than there was dialogue…)

I think I’m still adjusting to my new existence, but it seems to be working well.

    Cheers.

  5. What a great show! You people really have talent! So much so,
I can’t think of any other show comparable. Your voices, the intelligent writing, the sound manipulation, the story, the characters …you’ve got it all.
I’ve always wanted to use the word ‘ineffable’ and finally I have the opportunity …what you folks are producing is not only ineffable in its creation, it delivers ineffable joy too.
I’m not the word smith Jack K is… so, thank goodness, I found that big word, ineffable. It can do the heavy lifting of complimenting you all, so I can get back to listening!
Please people, do yourselves a favor and check this ineffable podcast out.

Easily the most under-appreciated audio drama going. The writing is outstanding both in its prose and narrative creativity. The acting is far above average for podcasts as well, which is especially impressive given that so many characters are voiced by a single person. Great work heading up such an epic project and thanks for sharing your many talents.
